http://www.hookafrog.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_43_160&products_id=518Now onto this month's kal/cal! Our August adventure was announced at July's meeting however if case you missed it:

http://www.hookafrog.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_43_160&products_id=519We have special permission from Boo-knits to participate in August when she is having her kal at the same time on her group Boo!….

Red, Red Heart KAL - Fragile Heart - August 4
This kal is for awareness of Women’s Heart Health….
Then we wear our shawls on November 25!!!!
On her group the shawl needs to be a shade of red …..

We are promoting four wonderful colorways of Periwinkle Sheep yarn that were made for women empowerment (She Sings, She Dances, She Plays, She Speaks) above for our kal, however, any Hook a Frog yarn will work!

Of course I did not leave the crocheters out!

For the crochet patterns I wanted a designer that had wonderful, lacy patterns that someone in the group had made. I immediately thought of lprajogo! Susanne (dsmcg) has made several of her patterns.

Patterns of hers that were crocheted and met the yardage requirements of one hank, were;

Both are elegant and can be made longer/larger if you so choose.

Thank you so much Lily for the use of your patterns for this cal!

July 2014

This month's meeting went wonderfully.  We had new product from Green Dragon; which all agreed is lovely.  The silk is almost sold out already!  Only one or two color ways left, more is on the way.  The single one of a kind, no two are alike roving was a wonderful reminder that the Tour de Fleece is in full 'spin', so more of that is also coming soon.

Those that finished June's kal/cal shared their works of art and discussed the yarn and patterns used.  Thank you Denise, Nharah, Suzanne, Nicole and Amanda!  If only my camera wasn't misbehaving I could share those beauties with all.  Next month we'll be ready with a Camera :).

This month we have two kal/cals both with Periwinkle Sheep Yarns.  The first is more of a challenge.  Find a pattern that has a patriotic meaning to you and make it with a Silky Single then share your story/reason and the finished item with the group next month.  We are SO excited to see what everyone comes up with.

The second kal is an interesting sock designed (redesigned) special just for us by one of us (Thank you Denise!) with Periwinkle Sheep Little Feet.  The sock's construction is based on the Houdini Sock by Cat Bordhi.  There are two different striped patterns given, khaki and denim with color suggestions so that ideally they look good with their namesakes.  The colors are not set; we encourage you to be creative with your 'Little Feet'.

We also discussed next months kal/cal...  Check back later for information on August's kal/cal.

Visit us on Ravelry any time and feel free to stop by the online shop.
